Hello I'am doing a M37 to Q70 conversion front end and back end. I connected the trunk, but the harness connectors are different. Does anyone know the proper way to connect the trunk connecter wires from the Q70 to the M37 harnessImage

Nissan/Infiniti is funky with harnesses, sometimes they change harness manufacturers at the drop of a hat. Might be able to help if you provide the VIN for your M and the year for the Q trunk. Once the wires are identified, if you still have the connector from the original M Trunk Harness, your best bet is to pirate the connector off it for use as an interchange pigtail.

Unless some aftermarket manufacturer makes an interface pigtail to support the swap, you'll have to sort it out yourself from the two different wiring diagrams.

I'm referring to a parts list if available. I can't find any info on the conversion just finished swaps. Zero info. I fell like I have to be in a secret M society 🤣🤣

Haven't done one and don't know. You could inspect the Q harness to see if all the business-end connections are in the same places using same connectors as the M harness. If so, just swap harnesses and use your old M.

Did a little digging in the ESM's, the trunk lock control unit on the Q has two wires running to the BCM that don't exist on the M. Not even sure if they can be added without changing BCM's. My guess is you have a can of worms here.

I suppose it depends on what year M you are dealing with. In the US, the 2011 and 2012 models didn't have auto-closing trunks.

I don't have access to the manuals ATM, but I bet that might have something to do with the BCM difference VStar pointed out above. If you are comfortable re-pinning harnesses, you can make it all work...or switch over the hardware and wiring from your old trunk.

The WD's I compared were '12 M versus '14 Q. The problem is, if the BCM on the M doesn't have IO's to drive the latch, he may need a different BCM. That could be a huge can of worms vis the other systems in the car.

This is the best you will get until one of you guys who's into doing these conversions actually does it and captures the steps/parts lol.

Just take out the old wire harness and trunk lock from your old trunk and move it over. I wanted to add the auto closure to my M, but decided not to since you need to insert new wires into the bcm.

I'll look into the open/close signal from the BCM and see if there's a kluje-fix. If it's a simple 12V strobe and not a bit-bang, it may be possible to use the existing trunk release signals for auto operation, or perhaps a DIY switch. Yoda's right regarding the rest, the M harness should get everything else working, there's no point in trying to use the Q.

It looks like the smartwork for the trunk opener is all in the opener/latch assembly, the BCM just outputs a 12V strobe "open signal" that's no different from the strobe to a conventional trunk lock. So if you can route power from someplace to the opener, you should be able to use the existing M trunk release line to trigger it.

Wait a minute... Doe newer M's have a different hinge that allows a motor to close the trunk lid? If so, can it be retrofitted to a 2011 M?

Pardon me, I don't think I worded that as accurately as I intended to communicate.

The 2013+ models have a trunk "cincher" , which means you place your trunklid pretty much all the way down, then a motor pulls the lid down for that last half an inch. The power is at the lock mechanism, but you swing the trunklid up and down manually.
That is unlike an automatic/powered trunk, where the hinges are motorized and a button press will automatically raise or lower the trunklid.

To my knowledge, no Infiniti sedans in the US have ever had a powered trunk since the 2006 Infiniti Q45.
