I just ordered my Denso spark plugs as listed in the service manual. They arrive tomorrow and will probably tackle this job Wednesday.

I've changed spark plugs a few times before, but never on a Nissan/Infiniti. Anything special I need to note? Also, do these require the washers on the plugs or not?

IIRC, the book says 0.046" gap, correct? I've never played with the Iridium plugs - are they able to be gapped easily without breaking?

So are they the original plugs? How many miles on the original? I saw 93k in your signature?

I listed the part numbers for both the V6 and V8 in another thread here if you look around...or go to the FSM (where I got them) and use those.

For the M37: Denso FXE24HR11

I ordered 6 off of Amazon Prime for about $70.

I assume these are the original plugs from the factory. Right now, I'm just shy of 95k miles.

Not bad mileage considering their the original set. I think most makers are having plugs last in the neighborhood of 100k miles. Just curious cause I was looking at a better plug to change out to. I'm shy of 44k right now. So no real hurry to get them this moment. But would like the best efficient plug around.

Got them changed and the throttle bodies cleaned up today. Went smoothly and took about 2 hours, give or take for beer breaks.

All of my plugs came gapped at .043-.044". I stupidly dropped one and had to regap it, but the rest I left as-is. Torqued to 14 ft-lbs. Works like a charm. No noticable change in performance/economy and I suspect there won't be any. The original plugs were all still gapped at .043" with no noticeable wear or other issues.
