I can see that on a long trip like that no matter how good the seats are. For me it's not the height but more the angle. Doesn't tilt me back far enough so my legs are dangling, and I'm not that tall either ( 5'9" 200 lbs of hard earned dad bod

I would love the bottom to move forward independent of the seat back and that would also resolve the issue (some cars have this adjustment, like the LS, and it essentially works as a thigh support extension, but I don't think that's possible in this case). What your suggesting with the spacers might work and that's exactly what I was thinking once I get under there. If it does and I can keep the seat essentially stock but with a little extra hardware underneath that would be ideal. Great find with those pics that helps a lot, thanks!Debonair wrote: ↑Fri Apr 20, 2018 10:41 amSo you just want the bottom cushion to come up more in the front? Or farther forward too?
Used seats for the Y51 can be had for around $300 so modifying them might be less scary then you think. At 6'3" I always want more under-knee/thigh support up and forward. I wish more cars had adjustable thigh supports like some BMW do, where it can be pulled out for longer legged drivers.
I always imaging making a Z shaped bracket that I could attach to the seat with cushion for my knees/thighs. A non-adjustable version of what BMW offers. But I digress.
Since I think you just want to go up you have two rather easy (IMO) options that I can see looking at a burnt out Y51 lower seat from eBay (HERE).
Option 1 - Add spacers to the front bolts of the pan that the cushion secures to which will raise the front up.
Option 2 - Add spacers to the front seat bracket where it bolts to the floor which will also raise the front up but the bolt angle will probably get weird.
