I just installed a pair on my M56. Before I did so, I researched a lot of other forums, looked at a lot of different set ups on different cars and trucks, and read different opinions, pro and con. I can't speak for the V6 but I do know that the V8's create excessive blow-by laden oil through the PCV valves. On a DI engine, a little oil is necessary for valve guide lubrication, but excess oil will cause (over time) carbon build up on the intake valves, affecting performance and mileage, etc. To my knowledge, there are no catch cans made specifically for our cars. I looked at several on Ebay and Amazon; they range from $20 - $200 plus in all kinds of configurations. Truth be told, any of them will work, but I wanted a high quality cylindrical style aluminum one that screws apart, has a diffuser, drain port and has 3/8" hose fittings that matched my PCV fittings. Main thing is finding a suitable mounting location. The V6 has more room than the V8. Look in the "How to and FAQ's" section in this forum:
