Hi Guys,

I have a 2011 M37S, European version.

I've tried to find similar problem in this amazing forum, but didn't found anything.

2 weeks ago my AV Unit just refused to read the music from my USB Flash. I've started to investigate and understood that the problem is not only with the USB Flash.

Summary:

1. USB Flash - doesn't work at all.
2. Music Box - doesn't work at all.
3. CD Player - after 5-10 minutes 1st song started, but after that it was silence again.
4. Navigation - after 5-10 minutes "HDD NAVIGATION" flashed, the white map appears, it was possible to push the buttons on the screen, but everything was veeeery slow and practically unusable.
5. Phone - it is working without any problem, but information on the screen is late. For example if someone calling me, the conversation is 2-3 minutes, it is finished, but on the screen is 0:00...
6. Radio - it is working without any problem.
7. The system restarts several times a day. After the restart the AC settings are changed.

First thing I'v tried was to remove the negative battery terminal for 2-3 hours. Nothing happened, even the radio stations memory was not erased.

Second thing was to open the System Diagnostic Menu, but "Self diagnosis did not detect any error".

Then I went to the local dealer, they did something for 2 hours and told me that the AV Unit has to be replaced. The price is around 6000 USD (with 20% discount :-)) and 80 USD for the replacement. Of course that is not a solution, so I am looking for a second hand AV Unit.

Yesterday I disassembled the AV unit (Thank you Ilya for the how-to-guide!) and found the number. It is 25915-1MF2C. So I have to find a replacement. Unfortunately there are not so many crashed M37s in my country from the same year, actually I couldn't found any. So I have few questions I hope you can answer me:

1. Can I replace this unit with the unit from M car from 2012 or 2013 year?
2. Is it mandatory to be M37 or I can look also for M35h or M30?
3. Is it possible to replace the unit with the unit with the same number and from the same year, but from FX37 or even from Nissan Murano? This cars have the same 25915-1MF2C AV unit.
4. Can I replace 25915-1MF2C AV unit with the 25915-1MF2E (which is his replacement) or even with 25915-1MK2A (which replaces 25915-1MF2E)?

Thank you in advance!

I am not sure what your system looks like, but I suggest that you look at replacing it with something similar to this.

Two things, DenisMcG. - 1) I don't think there is a model available for the M56/Q70 platform. 2) Phoenix systems require that the factory system be in working condition.

Hi DenisMcG,

I don't think this solution fits M Series.

A quick search came up with this, I have no idea if this would work. Just offering suggestions.

A 2012 HU should work, 2013 might not. Mine has issues also, but there's too many revisions and there's also a p/n that says it's the same as the g37 HU so i'm looking for for the same p/n as my HU to replace.

Your other option is to try that sketchy chinese brand that replaces the screen or purchase vline2. I'm using vline2

Thank you Yoda's Master!

What do you mean as p/n? 25915-1MF2C or the model number, which is NAU-PI8600EU7 UQW2212 in my car?

If it is the first number, it is the same at FX35/FX37/FX50, which is easier to find.

I don't want to change the system with this chinese solution, because my screen is OK and I'm afraid there will be problems with the other systems - camera, TPSS, AC, etc. May be this is the final option...

Are you happy with vline2? Can I use everything that works (radio, phone, TPSS)?

I understand the p/n might be the same across the different models, but the concern i have is whether or not they are programmed the same.

Vline2 is a piggy back option.

I have an additional question, if anyone knows the answer. Is it possible to replace only the hard drive in the AV Unit? I suppose the problem is in the drive.
