Already have 100K on the car?

Spark plugs recommended are

Standard type PLFR5A-11Hot type PLFR4A-11Cold type PLFR6A-11

TO replace the plugs you need to Remove engine room cover (RH and LH). 2. Remove engine cover with power tool.3. Remove air duct (inlet) and air duct (at the left bank side, remove ignition coil). 4. Move aside harness, harness bracket, and hoses located above ignition coil.5. Disconnect harness connector from ignition coil.6. Remove ignition coil.

ThenRemove spark plug with a spark plug wrench.

Seems like a lot of work.

Be careful!!

Nissan and Infiniti engines are notoriously sensitive to using other manufacturers. Particularly, do not use Bosch, no matter how good they are claimed to be for other cars. They have a tendency to die inside Nissan and Infiniti engines, with electrodes breaking off and scoring cylinder walls, etc.!

Definitely stick with the OEM plugs manufacturer (NGK), but you do not have to buy them from the dealer if you don't want to. Try http://www.everythinginfiniti.com and other places too - I have occasionally seen these on eBay, but you have to be sure that the seller is legit too.

Also, you can change to hot or cold type of NGK plugs, but this also comes with its own set of advise - use with care, depending on your driving habits, etc.

Just want to let everyone know that I put a set of Championplatnums in my M35X at 34K miles. On my last two tanks ofgas milage has increased from right at 19 to 20.4. Theoriginal plugs looked great, I just don't like to leave plugsin for more than two years.

How difficult was it to replace them? The maintenance manual make it seem that it is time consuming. Why did you replace them at 34K?
