So just recently purchased a 2007 M35x and ive been noticing this noise coming from the front. It kinda sounds rollercoaster being pulled up the track like a metal clicking noise. I only notice the noise at low speed usually under 15 mph. My first thought was the front drive shaft but i got it in the air checked the shaft..(pause) has no play in it. Any ideas what i should check next ?

You may want to check the front wheel bearings. Perhaps other members might have more idea. Good luck and please keep us updated when you determine the cause and the fix.

Does it get louder if you turn the wheel at said slow speed? Like in a parking lot?

If so, Larz nailed it, likely wheel bearing. There is a HowTo in my FAQ thread (signature) on how to change them.

It's the cv joint. Since it doesn't do it when you're turning, it's the inside joint.
