Hello all I have a 2008 m35X . I wanted opinions on how I can get the most aggressive looking stance without dropping my car. I was thinking about a concave wheel 20X10 all around or a 22 X 9.5. What is everyone's recommendation??? Thanks in advance

The one thing to remember is the bigger the wheel you get, the higher the car will be off the ground when using the stock suspension. The benefit with lowing springs is that you can retain the lower body height with bigger wheels. There are quite a few M's on this forum with 22's with and w/o lowering springs. Don't try using the search function, it SUCKS sweaty Donkey balls.

If and when you do this, PLEASE update and keep us posted. I'm considering upgrading the vossens I got earlier this year with newer concave all around and curious how it would look. 20X10. I just don't want it to poke out.

If you change wheels on the M X model a drop is a must.

you should be good with a set of H-tech springs or coilovers

I know what you mean about the roads, I live in Jersey City :frown:

I live in NYC as well. I thought about the whole issue with the roads and all that and said screw it. I dropped my car and LOOOOVE it. I mean there are times when you realize you dropped it. But for the most part, you just weave the potholes, and you good.

Definitely drop it that wheel gap is unsightly. The H-Tech lowering springs would accomplish the look you're probably going for without sacrificing a lot of ride quality or being too low. I may not be in NYC, but I'm dropped on H-Techs and 22's. No problem.

Why get an X model when there are so many M alternatives? An X model is made for road conditions that are less than choice. I actually wish (and I'm sure others do as well) that the X had a few inches more clearance. Lower and X? Hell no!!!

^^^these cars are almost 8 years old. its not like we buy new m35/m35x's then want to lower them. chances are most people bought local and they happen to be an X like I did and now we want to lower them. There seems to be more X's for sale honestly than non awd models. If you want something high than an M35x get an FX

No specific recommendation on sizes for me, but one strong advice: whatever you go with, please keep all four wheels identical ... same size, model, offset, etc.

Also please keep in mind that the same tire by two different manufacturers (or even tire models/brands) will actually have different rolling diameters - since the sidewall will flex differently. So, it is best to use the same tire on all four wheels too.

This "identicalness" will avoid stressing and possibly damaging the AWD system on your car - particularly if the rotation differences are too large. :yesnod

i agree with kingcnc91. leave it alone. I have an m35X and love the car. Moved from CT to GA. The best mod you can make on that car are Conti DWS'. I really don't see the point with screwing with a car with all wheel capabilty and its computers just to get the look of an M35. If you want an M35 than buy one. Screwing with what you have may present problems.
