My name is Mike and i just recently picked up a 2007 M35X with 86000 miles for about $16.3. I come from a 2001 Mercedes Benz so I waited until i found this fully loaded 35X in the pretty Crimson roulette pearl.
So to start off one muffler is broken. I've never been a fan of these tips as I feel they are too small for the rear so any suggestions would greatly be appreciated. I've started to change all the lights to White LED's and will order a kit to have matching 6K headlights and fogs. Is there anyway to wire the fogs to come on with the parking lights? I've also ordered K&N air filters and will be doing a general service (Whats the recommended oil for this car?) I want to leave the car relatively stock for a few months but I do intend on buying some Junction Produce curtains and neck pillows to contrast that beautiful brown interior
Other questions i have are
1. Is there any other way (other than the plug in RCA in the rear) or is there an aux input that can be plugged into the Navi unit? Maybe an ipod integration for a iPhone 5. I see the buttons have an Aux option just don't know where it is.
2. Are these headlights the ones that turn as you steer? Not that it makes a difference just curious.
3. What exactly does the the button to the right of the rear shade do? (button labeled On, Rear Cont., Cancel)
4. Does the lane departure also steer or just beeps? Is there a blind spot sensor as well or am i confusing myself with other cars.
5. Why is there 2 areas for DVD? One in the glove box and one in the handrest. Is one dedicated for the Navi?
6. Can you store MP3 in the unit itself? I tested a 08 with a big slot for a MD card right under the CD eject button. Maybe a optioned miss or is that very rare to find.
7. Brakes and rotors will have to be replaced. I've used Akebono for my Maxima and Benz and they are great with little dust. Unfortunately they only make rears for this car. Anyone has any suggestions or what are your setups. My priority would be stopping power, noise then dust. Also probably like some slotted and drilled rotors so when I put a set of wheels on it would look better.
Sorry for the long post but just wanted to put everything out there all at once rather than through several posts. Perhaps most or all of my questions could be answered with a manual... if i had one
Appreciate any info and look forward to being apart on the M family.
