Hey NICO,

I am going to buy an 06 M35X and wanted some advice. I don't want the nav but I do want the back up camera, is this combo possible?

I like the spoiler and I have seen aftermarket ones look nice, is the X available with a spoiler?

The stereo options all seem to suck for true audiophiles and for connectivity. I like bass so should I get the lowest one and then get a "cleansweep" or equivalent setup, along with replacing the speakers and adding a sub and amp, or should I just deal with it cuz it's too much hassle?

On the same note what can I expect to spend to get a decent sounding system going if I go that route. I don't need the loudest system I just want a better sound than the stock seems to have. can it be done for less than $1000?

How much will a set of winter wheels/tires cost, are there any other vehicles I can swap from to get smaller diameter wheels from for winter tires.

I have looked into the cost of a warranty for these cars and they run about 2000 to 3000 for an "exclusionary" policy, any warranty tips would be appreciated, I have seen something about infinity offering a warranty but what if I am not buying from an infinity dealership IE carmax or my local dealership that I trust... What have you all been paying for warranty coverage and what kind of coverage does it have?

I am looking for peoples advice and opinions here, yes I have searched but I want the latest and the greatest in all these areas and any others you may want to comment on.

Thanks for all the help in advance.

Good choice with the M35x. Here are the details per your post:1) Navi w/out Back-up Camera - NOPE. Technology Pkg. includes Navigation system, rearview camera & Bose sound system. Cannot get them a-la-carte. Just get everything!

2) Spoiler - If the M35x has the Aerodynamic Body Kit then Spoiler is standard. You can also get one with just spoiler. If it does not have one, the aftermarket will work just fine.

3) Sound System - While I'm no audiophile, IMHO this is one of the best sound systems comparing to Mark Levinson, Bang & Olufsen & other Bose systems. You can add an extra Bass tube in the trunk without too much aftermarket intrusion.

4) Winter wheels/tires - Not sure if you really need it since you are getting the AWD model. http://www.tirerack.com or http://www.discounttiredirect.com should give you a good idea on these.

5) Warranty - Absolutely, positively nothing other than the Infiniti Elite Protection Plan. Prices vary based on your current mileage and desired coverage. Courtney @ Infiniti of Scottsdale has the best prices anywhere for the IEPP. I paid approx $1300 for 3yr/48k coverage.

I agree the sound system sounds decent, but it's no winner by any means. The system does lack bass, but if you can upgrade "easily" to a bass tube, then the highs and mids will just get drowned out by the extra bass. The highs and door speakers (mids) need to be replaced with better ones too, but I have my doubts about the OEM amp being able to push enough amps to allow upgraded speakers to sound good without distortion.

The sound systems in the M's are not easily upgraded. At least this is what I have learned so far.......unfortunately.

Totally agreed with you on this one! Do not buy this car without the extended warranty from Infiniti!! These cars are mechanical/ electrical pieces of sophistication on wheels! There is always something that could possibly go wrong.
