M35X AWD light

I have a 2007 M35X and when I press the button on the console to engage the All Wheel Drive mode I do not see the AWD light up in the dash panel; only the light on the button illuminates. Does this light in the dashboard only light when one of the wheels slips or is it suppose to light up when the snow button is engaged? Or is my All Wheel Drive not working?

There is no AWD button on the M35X. AWD is always engaged. You are talking about the snow button which is used in bad traction situations. There is no light on the dash to show that has been engaged - just the light on the button.
