Despite dealer checking alignment twice and having tires rotated, first front to rear and then a second time with criss-cross pattern, the car still pulls/drifts to the left (all road conditions). Any thoughts on this annoyance? Could it be the Goodyear RS-A?

If it were the tires, it would pull either direction based on road surfaces/conditions. My Yoko's are horrible at this when driving over roads with "truckers ruts".

If the alignment is OK, did they check the struts?

I think the struts should be looked at too ... was the alignment done with you sitting in the car, by the way? Try that out as a possible thing to check out.

Separately, though, the Goodyear RS-A is among the world's worst tires, IMHO. And expensive too!

Definitely change the tires soon - even the Michelin MXM all-season that some M's get as an option might be way better. Maybe you can get the Dealer to agree to change them out and try them.

if the tires wore in the pull, then an alignment wouldnt take car of it.they should have swapped the fronts left to right and see if it pulled the other way.did they do an alignment or check it? totally different.check pressures too.id say its the tires though.probably from sitting waiting to be bought.

It could also be a sticky caliper, or one caliper not engaging as much as the other.

A good point.

So, a question to the original poster: does the pulling get better/worse when braking?

1) The tires were rotated on two separate occasions. First, front-to-rear only. The second time was a side-to-side swap

2) Braking does not make the pull any worse.

Would the dealer have inspected the struts without me specifically asking them to do so?

I know that the following TSB is for a 2003 G35 but I would assume that the front steering component are similar and it does not sound like your dealer has a solution.

if i had to work on the car,i would peek at the struts to see if they are leaking or damaged.other than that, you cant tell if the strut is causing alignment issues without doing an alignment.we are required to print out the specs of the alignment.ask to check it.if you know what to look for,you can conclude if it is a suspension part or tires.there are many links in the front suspension.i doubt the struts would be the cause.

I just brought my 2007 M35 to the dealer for the exact same problem, the car drifts to the left when driving. It does get worst when braking. The dealer said there is nothing wrong, however, next time, I'm not leaving the car and demand that a service tech take a test drive with me, and then tell me the car isn't pulling
