This is just pure curiosity, but I was at the dealer looking at the showroom cars while I was getting my oil changed the other day and I got thinking, why didn't Infiniti use the 3.7 L VVEL engine for their hybrid powertrains in the Q50 and Q70 / M35H Hybrids?
I know that there have been some complaints about the refinement of the VQ35HR (the one used in the G right before it became the G37) and the switch from electric to gas power in those cars and I would presume that the VVEL engine would have helped that and given better fuel economy.
Anyone who has a guess that they would like to share please do!
