M35h Intake Missing Bolts?

I'm not *really* a mechanically-inclined guy, but I had the engine cover off today and notice what appears to be two empty holes for bolts, with threads and everything, in the center of what I believe is the intake manifold (ugly-looking thing directly underneath of the less-ugly but cheap-feeling plastic cover). Are there supposed to be bolts in there?

Here's the pic, the holes in question are the gold-colored ones in the center. Yes, it is dirty :P I was going to try a little cleaning.

I don't think there should be bolts there. I haven't seen the M35h engine cover though...maybe somehow related to the cover?

Talked to a mechanic buddy of mine, he said what's probably going on is that same intake manifold is used with various engine covers, and those "extra" holes are for another variation. They are the same exact sizing and makeup as the others I do use to fasten on the cover, so that makes sense to me.
