M35h - changing out the 12v lead acid battery

Have to replace the 12-volt battery in the trunk, looking at the service manual are they actually saying to remove the rear seat to get to it?

Has anyone done it, is it possible to just change it out by going through the trunk area and to not have to go through a similar routine as removing the hybrid battery itself?

I haven't worked on one, but this is from the dismantling guide, it's a little clearer than what's in the FSM:

The FSM doesn't mention anything about the seat, it just says to remove the front trunk finisher which is clipped into the seatback. The 12V battery has its own service cover. Start on PG-141 here for the battery...
