Car has been running fine. Hadt he oil changed a few weeks ago at the dealership and belts replaced. They had in the test report that the battery was good. I thought the battery in the key fob might have been getting low. I drove it to lunch today, worked after that and was leaving the office and nothing worked when I went to unlock then doors. I fiddled with it for a while and changed the battery in the key fob. But still nothing. only two lights come on inside and blinking, RAS and air bag symbol. The brake pedal also feels tight. Anyone have any ideas. Is it on Security lock somehow. Could the battery die out that quick when it seemed fine and tested good at the dealership a few weeks ago? Your help is greater appreciated she is sitting in a rough area of town tonight...

Have you changed your car battery since'06?? If not it most likely is bad, and yes it can die out that quickly even tough the dealer had just checked it....if it's the original one! Try and get it jumped and if it starts then there you go, it was the battery. Good luck!

Well I went and had it jumpoed this morning with one of those jumper hand held devices, and it started...he guy tested underload and said is read just under 12v.He said it may be a bad cell. I let it run a few minutes and then made sure it would restart. Seemed fined started perfect 3-4 times...Could I have turned it off wrong. Is it ppossible to turn off the car but have the interior system still "on". I think I noticed getting out of the car and it beeping a few times as I walked off. That system always puzzles me....Hey I'm old and used to the metal key thing...Thanks again.

well yeah you can have the engine off but still have power running to the radio lights etc just as if you had the key turned halfway on a regular key ignition. This happens when you push the ignition button without having your foot on the brake. Maybe you pushed the ignition button twice when turning the car off and it put it into that mode, therefore running out the battery.

You can also do this by turning off the car before it is in park. The dash will say to put it in park and press the button again (with pictures). Regardless, if you open the door with the engine not running and it dings like a vehicle with the ignition still in ACC or On (or with the headlights on) then one of those three things is likely the problem. You can look at the start button and the ACC and On lights should be off, so press them to go through the cycle, and if you can't get them there, figure out why (perhaps there is a bad sensor that thinks it's not in park, preventing that, although I figured that system had a mechanical element [like the steering wheel locking]). One user had his video screen staying on even when the ignition was off a year or two ago, but that was some sort of fluke, and then there wouldn't be a ding, but you would see the video screen still on.
