I have an 06 M35x and a 11 M56x both are loaded with all the options and the upgraded speakers beside head rest.

I feel as if my 06 M35x sounds much stronger and nicer.

When it's at 1/2 volume its very loud.

Any one have any thoughts? My M56 sounds great also, and I checked all speakers are working, just wondering...

I had an 07 with 6 speakers I believe and my M56x has 14 I think...if anything it was an upgrade. That being said, Bose is not what is was in the 90's in car audio. Wish Infiniti went with something else.

I kept my 06, I couldn't part with it, its sentimental to me!

My wife is bugging me, because we have two small children 4 and 2, and no SUV or mini van, just 2 sedans. I keep re-assuring her, these are the longest sedans infiniti makes lol

my M35 and M56 both have the upgraded sound, but the M 35 seems nicer and louder for some reason.

I agree with Ilya, I have the premium sound package but not nearly enough umph!. I remember hours under the dash and then in the trunk to wire up my Alpine system with Jensen Quadrax 9x6s - those were the days

I hated the system in my M56xS initially. I thought the G37 sounded better, it didn't, it sounded different. I still think they should of put 10's in the M's doors like the G but oh well. I stream a lot of music and I needed to adjust the eq on my Spotify and I have to say I love it now. I do small adjustments with the bass and treble, that being said I might add a single 12"sub but that's for the real low stuff.

I had an '08 M45x with the upgraded system and currently have an '11 M56x with the upgraded system. My M56x is WAY better. In my M45x there was a rattle in one of my rear speakers (which is also the problem I had in my '03 J30) and I felt overall the sound just wasn't as clear. Much cleaner sound in the M56x my opinion.

I like my Bose surround system. It's adequate + slightly more. However, there are many other choices for Infiniti to go with that are much much better than Bose. Infiniti have been using the same Bose surround system for over 10 years now with very slight change. In fact it was gotten slightly worse ... The only way to get the upgraded surround system in the 2018 Q70 is to add the 'sport' package which has a less comfy ride. What surround sound has to do with 'sport' is beyond me.

I think its because since I did the Nav/DVD-bypass in my M35x, so mainly watch DVD movies in the M35x, and they sound amazing with the dobly surround!

I will try comparing it with a DVD in my M56x, as they both as have upgraded speakers, and see how it sounds in the M56, I never tried a DVD in there.

I just picked up a '12 M56s fully loaded and it has the 14 speaker 5.1 bose... my 07 BMW 530i's Harmon Kardon Logic7 blows it out of the water sadly

I'm not sure if this is related to the topic, but I have a question. Is there a thread in this forum that explains how to remove all of the trunk liners and components? I am trying to install sound dampening for two subs and I'm looking for some help with removal of my trunk liners. If so, could someone post a link to the thread?

I have the 10 speaker system in my '12 M37x. It sounds ok. Just ok. If the in-dash unit wasn't so integrated, I'd rip it out and put in the aftermarket stuff I had in my prior G35. I did put in a 10 in sub in a fiberglass box and an amp in the trunk and disconnected the factory sub and that helped a little, but to me the front speakers still sound like they're covered with a wet blanket.

I had a Mark Levinson equipped Lexus LS460 until last year and while better than the premium Bose setup that comes with the Deluxe Touring Package in my 2012 M37x, it is not leads and bounds better.

What this system screams for is a high quality subwoofer/amplifer combo which I plan to do this week.
Shame it is relatively involved owing to the sound trickery Infiniti uses to augment or attenuate unwanted sounds. Certainly still doable and the write up here about it is excellent.
