M35 Treo 700wx issues

I just purchased a Verizon Treo 700wx and was driving today when everything suddenly locked up. I could not change the volume, air, anything. I thought it was a car issue until the same thing happened to my wife who also upgraded to a treo and her QX 56 locked up. Has anyone had this issue?

It happens in my car also. Just take the battery out of the phone and everything should go back to normal.
