M35 Tire Pressure Reading

I bought a 2006 M35x a couple of weeks ago. To date, the tire pressure reading has read "**" and no tire pressure reading has shown up. Once or twice the reading for one tire would show up but never all 4. Is there something wrong here or does it take weeks to get a reading?Thanks for any thoughts.

Hi there Welcome to NICO and Congrats on the new to you M.

The reason the tire monitors are not displaying the current pressure is most likely the tires are not programmed. I would guess that the tires were rotated by the selling dealer and the TPM were not re registered. The monitors need to be set by the dealer there is no DIY or aftermarket way to do. There are some instances where they will magically but they should be reset.

SteveTheTech-Thanks alot for the info. That makes sense. I am going to schedule a 12K mile check up, get some keys programmed. I will have them reset these as you indicate. Again, thanks a ton for the info.

No problem that is what were here for.

They should take care of it then without issue. Be sure to check everything in the car before you take it in in case you notice something it is much easier to bring it up when you are already there.

mine did that when I got my car, then magically started working after a week.
