Hey all. I'm new as a member, but not new to looking here for information on Infinitis, so I have a question for you all. Recently, my car has started to make a popping/knocking sound when I go over bumps. I have looked this up online and have seen it as a possible worn shocks/struts as the problem. I will be taking it to a mechanic soon, but I was just wondering if any of you have ever had the same or similar sound, and if so, what did it turn out to be? I'm just hoping for someone with the same car to have had the same thing so I can have a little more info for the mechanic going in. Thanks!

You had the popping sound and it turned out as that? Good to know. Thanks.

Based on your description, that's really what it sounds like. I'm one of the resident nicoclub techs, so I work on them all the time. If it is swaybar links, it's way cheaper than struts, so that's a good thing.

Yep, I agree with our resident Infiniti tech. I had that when I was lowered and I changed those to fix the issue. Really easy to install actually (probably don't even need a mechanic if you have the tools and basic skills). I think I made a guide on how to do them, in the FAQ link in my signature.

Will the sway bar links be under suspension/steering area? If it's fairly simple, I will definitely be able to do it... I'm pretty handy and can do new projects if I have a guide for something that I don't know. So yes, please point me in the direction! Thanks for being a second confirmation too in the problem :)

Yes, one end will be attached to the swaybar, which is a long black metal bar that stretches to both front tires. The other end will go through the lower control arm. The nuts to remove them are 17mm.
