M35 Filling up Premature fill half tank?

Has anyone noticed when filling their M35 up from empty that sometimes it seems to prematurely fill up around half tank-9.5 gallons?

It has happened several times: Bone empty different gas stations and filling away and at 9 gallons i see a puddle on the ground as gas spills from the cap, I stop let it settle and try to slowly fill and remove any vapor lock but no luck, I have tried to fill it up for minutes afterwards (go get coffee) and give up. I drive away with only half a tank then I will fill it up at a later date.

Take it to the dealer. I had the same issue on my 06, they fixed it for free.
