I just wanted to see if anyone has ever modified their mid pipe.

i have the fujitsubo exhaust and wanted to chop off the mid pipe resonators and just straight pipe it. The exhaust is really quiet and just wanted to see if doing this lil chop would make it a lil bit louder but not obnoxious..

Also wondering if anyone has done this at all even on a stock exhaust? Thanks

I haven't done it to an M, but have done custom exhausts on different cars.
I ended up buying glasspacks to soften up the sound a little.

Why not just add some new mid pipes instead of cutting up that one? That way if you don't like the sound you can just put it back on.

the fuji mid pipes don't really like up w/ anything... so if i wanted to do it.. i would have to make a whole new mid pipe.

and the donut flange i dont wanna keep messing w/..

That's what I meant. Putting two pipes and merge it to a y shouldn't cost a lot. Maybe you post a sound clip how it sounds now, then after?

true... might be easier to just make a new mid pipe with any muffler shop out of steel than to ruin such a nice midpipe.

i'll see what i can do in terms of video, however it is sooo quiet.. even quieter than stock right now.

the specs on thier dyno/db measurment shows it's quiet like you mentioned though. Image
