Airbag was replaced due to recall and after airbag replacement the dash is destroyed. Infiniti USA and Infiniti of Chattanooga have refused to accept responsibility because the before and after pictures were deleted. It seems the service technician took before and after pictures with his personal cell phone & deleted them. Has anyone else had problems with dash cracking after airbag replacement?

How convenient, huh? It might be time to get the BBB or an attorney involved because that "well, I lost the pictures so just trust me" philosophy won't fly anywhere outside of the mafia. Do you have any current pictures? We might be able to identify if the damage was caused on the way to dash removal.

But yes, it's happened to others recently. Here are some relevant posts:

I had a great experience at Infiniti in Sanford, FL. Brought mine in for the recall and informed them that my dash was in rough shape. They didn't blink and said yea that will be replaced as part of the recall. I have a new beautiful dash and couldn't be happier. This dash has made me nuts for the last couple years. I will plan on keeping this car longer because of this.

Wow. Count yourself very lucky. The majority of members could not get a dash replacement if there was existing damage prior to the replacement. I wonder is Infinit have decided that with all this bad publicity, it might serve them to just replace the dashes? I had to pay for my new dash. I know how you feel, The only thing about my car that was NOT in pristine condition was the dash. I decided it better to spend the money for the new dash to keep the whole car like new.

I've gotten into a habit of taking pictures of the areas that will be worked on. I.e.; for anything that requires my wheels being taken off (rotation/brakes etc...), I document the finish of each wheel before dropping off the car.
After my first tire replacement at the dealer they gauged my rim and claimed it was preexisting. After complaining (I had no pictures to prove it otherwise), they repaired and repainted my rim free of charge. I believe the tech fessed up to the damage (my haunch), but since then I try to have current photos of the car.
Do same thing with valet (although it's rare I let someone drive it if I can help it).

To the OP - you may start with a small claims court threat and follow up if they still deny it. I bet you'd have a good chance of winning the case....
