So I am going to start fabricating some chassis rigidity bars. Looking for input on what you guys would like to see, also any sort of end goal (front end, rear, total, etc..)
What I have planned:
4 point front strut bar: ties the two struts with a regular cross member, but extends to the rad supports, stillen makes something similar and it felt great in the z and another fabricated one felt phenomenal in the CTS. I am not sure why the front rad supports tied everything up so well but the damn front end felt like steel when turning, zero flex almost like sways... Mine will be titanium but planning on some steel and aluminum mock ups...
Rear lateral brace, made to clear big pipe exhausts, need some megan axle backs to double check, and some fatass resonators, but could prolly eyeball it
Front Lateral brace
Chassis mid brace, looks like i have all the mounting points in the world under their, only issue is clearance with dropped rides.
Diff brace of course
Cold rolled sways
torque dampers
Some sort of transmission supports, idk just yet, there is a ton of flex under there, and this would make acceleration so much more fluid all the while preserving oem longevity... still brain storming on that one.
Any more ideas??? These should/could be universal fit for most M chassis, once I get into bushing/mount work, we can seriously make the car an extension of the driver...
______
I know some of yall are scratching your heads as this is not a track car, rather a luxury sedan. BUT, once the vehicle is tied in with rigid supports the car seriously rides better... I swear to god just the rear lateral brace makes cut springs feel like monster shocks... spose we'll see.
cheers
