Recently had some body work done on my 2008 M35x. When picked up the car the automatic windows acted a little unusual so the body shop did a manual reprogram of the car by doing a series of things turning car on and off. Fixed window issue, but now i notice that when accelerate fast or hit brakes fast that my passenger seat belt light indicator on the dash keeps on blinking. When i stop the car it goes off and doesn't come on when i start the car. Only after some type of brake/acceleration that's heavy does it turn back on.

Seems like the nightmare I had on my 2005 Nissan Armada where that had seatbelt lights coming on after that had some body work done. That blinking light issue was well documented on the Nissan Armada board along with the warning that Nissan will deny the problem and force the owner to replace the seat belt housing.

Anyone having issues on Maxima or Infiniti M35/45 like I'm describing? Suggestions? Thanks.

Appreciate your response however I'm not sure i fully understood your suggestion. Are you saying that when this blinking light comes on I should:
- leave the car running while in park
- fasten passenger seatbelt
- move passenger seat forward & backwards a few times
- if blinking light doesn't stop then just look under passenger seat to see if any loose connectors

Appreciate the idea so any clarity is appreciated. Thanks.

Just move the pass seat all the way up and forward and check the seat belt sensor connection.

My 06 doesn't have a "passenger seat belt" indicator light. It just has a "seat belt" indicator light. If the "passenger air bag off" light is on, then I would guess that the car doesn't think there is a passenger, and the indicator is likely not about the passenger seat belt. That having been said, I don't suppose there is a driver sensor, and I don't think the owner's manual mentions this scenario, so my best guess (and that's all it is) would be that the auto-tensioner on one of the seat belts is the problem. That would also explain why the light starts flashing when you brake hard (but it would not explain why it would do so when you accelerate hard). They certainly have connectors (to power the motors and tell them to wind up), so you could check/reseat those connectors in both seats. If that is the problem, though, and assuming reseating the connectors doesn't fix it, you wouldn't have to replace the seat belt, you'd just be without a rare safety feature.

Good point Dustin. It could be some sort of pressure sensor in the seat cushion. If you ever carry heavy groceries in the front seat the light will remain on until the seat belt is clicked in.
