M35 Audio Upgrades

OK I need to hear from anyone who has upgraded the base cars audio system. The factory system is lacking and I hear you need a JL audio clean sweep if you want ( need) to use the OEM system. I want to include ipod integration when I do this. I want a subwoofer but I dont want to give up too much trunk space. I have an idea of a system including the JL audio piece, a 5 channel amp, speaker upgrade and a sub. Lets hear your experiences..........

Dude, I was in the same boat when I picked my M35x back in feb. I replaced the front doors speakers with Alpine SPX-17PRO 6-1/2" Component 2-Way Speaker The rear door speakers were replaced with SPR-17C 6-1/2" Coaxial 2-Way Speaker . I also added a 10 inch Type R Subwoofer in the trunk. Two PDX amps for power and since I of course kept the stock head unit, I added the PXE-H650 System Integration Audio Processor It has been simpl y awesome

Ok thanks for the info, what did you use to go from the head unit to the amps? Did you use a hi/lo converter, or something else? Let me know and if you have pics that would be great!

I think he used the PXE processor instead of a hi/lo converter. Processors designed for OEM integration usually flatten(through internal eq) and clean up the signal going to your amp(s). It's MUCH better than the hi/lo for OEM integration. I'm looking to get a 2006 Sport and this is the way I want to go.

Cool, I think im goning to go with the JL Audio clean sweep, did anyone use this piece? Also looking for pics of the amp/processor install.Thanks
