its been quite a while since ive last posted about the project but thats cuse ive been working more then i should have and havent had time to work on the beast. so what did i do...? i quite that job and said fuk that. ive saved a bit of money and have been working on the caar over the past couple weeks. while i had the engine out i took it down to a long block and put new gaskets and seals in it. im waiting for a timming belt kit, b4 that goes together. ive got my oil retun lines from the turbos waiting to b welded to the oil pan and soon ill do the dipstick relocation. as for the steering im waiting till the engine gets back in but i beleive that a custom down pipe will solve my problem. i have all the info i need for the vacum hoses and wiring so these next few weeks ill be sorting all that out.

hey Sinan, u said thta you used the stock j30 mounts, is that the case cause when i tried to bolt on the drivers side turbo the wastegate controler is hitting j30 mount. did you get a custom mount or did u get around it some other way? soon the beast will be let out of its cage

Glad to hear from you man, i hope that all will unfold easily for you from here on...

yes, i had the same problem, i got around it by doing two things (together), first, mark the area of the mount that is hitting, take out some material via grinding (since the mount is a very crutial piece, i didnt grind a lot)...... second, i bent the wastegate holder (bracket) a bit... the fitting was very easy from there.... again... just take your time with it...... no special tool is needed other than a grinder

i hope this helps man, keep up the good work, and dont hesitate to ask questions

by the way..... any new pics???

i havent had a camera with me over the past couple months bu ti did get one out there to day a snagged a few pics.first i got the pedals in and mounted. there not exactly pretty to look at but it should help make rev matching a bit easieri got the oil return line from the turbos in the pan today.then i tacked that waste gate problem cut about 1/4 inch out of the bracket and rewelded it. this save me from grinding into the mouunts.beforeafteraltho there is still the one bolt that i dont think is going to fit in for the mount...i beleive itll be staying that waythats all for now but illl be back with more pics

Great job, very nice idea, it fits perfectly, i wish i had a welder.......

for the engine mount bolt, i wouldnt leave it like that, since you have the engine out, it wont take much time to take the turbo out and slightly redo the wastegate mount to fit the engine mount bolt....

make sure that the engine mount bolt is shorter than the others, there is a coolant passage at the end of that hole, dont tap into it, it will be a nightmare if you do, so just use a shorter bolt, and you will be good to go.... i would measure how deep is the hole before i choose the bolt for it (it is a standard nissan bolt, but the shorter ones, i'm sure you have one laying around, just dont use the long ones)

i hope to see more pics soon

when i first modified the wastegate braket i was only concerned with the engine mount, once that was done i ground down the toop of the a bolt head to get all the bolts in to the mount, i still cant get to one, with the turbo on so its not tightened but it is snug. with that done i started to put it all back together and realized that i did not have the oil filter snout on the block and with that on the block the wastegate controller would hit that on its way in. i had to then bend the wastegate controller bracket to get the clearence. this changed the angle and distance to the wastegate from the controller. so i cut the controller arm and shortened and angled it to line up well. now i finally got it all back together.

the next problem is that the rubber mount i am using is from the m30. and it is hitting the oil filter snout where the oilcooler line connects. so im looking at getting a set of solid mounts off of ebay. this will hold it all down steady and should give the clearence i need.

i got most of the vaccum lines and the electrical wires figured out...altho not all. ill wait till i get the timing belt back on before i attemt to get it back in the hole. BTW: anyone know where to get a cheap timing kit for the vg30de?? the j30, 300NA and 300TT all use the same set....???? anyone at all???ill keep posting till i get it done.

sooo im sitting around waiting for parts and i figure i still have new crank seals that i could install. i wanted to do the front seal first cause the way the engine is setting it is easier to get to. the problem is that theres the timing belt gear that is in the way.i first tried gently prying on it ... but that didnt work, so i tried using a propane torch to add a little heat to the situation.... that didnt work, then i got out the oxy/acetlyne torch ... i had to heat up the sprocket red hot just to get it to move.but i finnnaly got it off. the unfurtunate effect of heatiing it to cherry and not cool down properly caused it to form some stress cracks. so now to add to my parts list i need to get that gearnow you may ask was the seal even leaking in the first place? i dont know... but im sure glad that i got that gear off now because i would not of wanted to go through all of that with the engine in the car

update: got solid motor mounts today and timing belt kit (just the pullys not the tensioner). the diameter of the mounts are smaller then teh stock m30 ones, and they fit perfectly around the oil cooler snout. i need to put my oil pump on and get the crank gear before i get the motor back together.

its about time i pop back in to show this project has not failed

ive now got the engine in the car, with a little modification to the megan downpipes ive bought the exhaust will clear the steering shaft.

ive got the wiring 97% done just need to hookup a fan and a couple valves.

im waiting for intercooler and piping to arrive in the mail, also tring to find BOVs that are trustworthy. ebay's got cheap ones but im not sure if i want them

the next issue is all because the 90 m30 unlike the 91 or 92, used a mechanical spedometer. so ive got to get guages to use because the tt trany ha an electric speed sensor

but other then that its moving along
