M30 Vert central locking issues

1992 M30 Vert has developed issues with central lock system. When locking/unlocking the vehicle using the key, system OK. When using the console button, or interior door lock buttons, the system refuses to allow the locks to activate. Original owner had an after market remote lock system installed, and I removed it in that there were just too many wires going to to many places and it would occasionally activate itself at inopportune times, blowing horn and flashing the lights!

Have you checked the fuses for the interior yet? Perhaps you've simply blown a fuse.

If all fuses are intact, I'd take the center console apart and check your wiring connections.. especially the ground wires.
