so i just got a 92 m30. its been sitting for about 6 months. the guy i bought it from said it runs and drives. well it does "run".

the problem:the car starts and idle (rough)playing around with the throttle, it wont do anything but idle. once in a while it will actully rev and can sustain and control it. the second u let it idle, its very hard to get it to rev again. no check engine light. the mafs isnt blocked, as far as i can tell. i threw some fuel injector cleaner and a new fuel filter. the car is not exactly local to me so i have to go back to try to get it moving. im thinking the fuel injectors are being bad. but since thats $$$ anyone got any ideas

check vacuum lines, specially the idle air control valve (not familiar with the engine but i'm sure it has some sort of idle controll), also check the ignition system, and what i'm doubting the most is your fuel system, i'm only guessing that when you try to accelerate the engine, not enough fuel is being delivered so it kinda stays at idle or close (maybe a fuel pump or fuel regulator unit)

forgot to mension that if there was sufficient fuel being delivered to accelerate and the engine wouldnt rev, then that would cause the cylinders to flood and then the engine would choak, if that is not happening, then it is very likely that you have a problem with the fuel system, i hope this helps, keep us updated

as he said. somethin else is to see if ur throttle valve actually opens cause. the linkage may for some reason not be connected to the plate therefore no more air going in/ or fuel to raise idle. if the plate opens then there would have to be something blocking hte air from getting into the manifold. airfilter,---lots o carbon sumpthin.

well im opening the throttle body directly with my hand . i was thinking it might be a vacuum line also, because you can feel and hear air coming(pushing out the filter) when the engine is on... but all of them seem to be good.

im hopeing the spark plug wires degenerated (they fall apart easy) because that will be a cheap fix ^_^. thanks guys!
