hey guys im looking for some info on the rev limiter type on the M30 ecu. I have a z31 that has a limiter that cuts the injectors when its hit. does the m30 ecu have the same setup or is it an ignition cut setup?

I've run mine into the limiter and heard no backfiring so it is injection that is disabled though it might be both.

Kool. I thought it was a fuel cut setup. BTW, what is the rev limit on the M30? I keep getting mixed answers.

The Z31 is listed as 6500 rpms but my M30 factory service manual has no mention of the rev limit.

The factory tach is marked solid red just over 6100 rpms but it's most likely the same as the Z31.

Ok that would be awsome. Either im looking into swaping out the ecu to an f31 or a full z32 setup. Better then the limited z31 ecu thats for sure.

swapping the m30 ecu will net you more than just a different rev limiter, Z31 has a burst type fuel injection where it just throws fuel at the cylinders, M30 has sequential fuel injection sooo gas mileage and performance.

good luck finding them though, those things are gold. i sold one of my extras for like $350

I do know most of that and that they have 2 maps for either 87 or for 91 octane(California). Ive been thinking either go that rought or going over to a z32 setup.
