The problem I'm having is the door lock,on my 90 m30,the passenger side does not lock the driver's side door, just unlocks it.But the driver's side door locks/unlocks both doors. Also my car does not have switches to operate the door locks, they work when I pull or push on them.I tried a new actuator but that didn't work. The only other thing I haven't replaced is the door lock timer. What could be the problem? Is there anything else I should check and if so where is it located? Please:help Thanx Dave

Welcome, Dave. Wish I could help, but M30s are the rarest of Infinitis. There are at least two or three other M30 owners on the board who contribute, so hold on. You may try a search on M30 to see what has been posted specific to your car.

All Q45tech posts are an eventual must read, regardless of which car you own, even a Lexus.

This is how the locking works on my M30 as well. It's just how it is if you have a 1990 M30. They 'fixed' this feature after 1990. I read about this on consumerguide.com:

Perhaps to fix it, you'll need other door locking parts from later M30's to make it work, but I don't think it's worth it.

Razel,Thanx a lot for that info on my door locks for my 1990 M30.That was an interesting article about my car, which gave me some insight on all year M30's that I never new.If you find anymore info like that one, please let me know,THANX again!!!!!!!!

But I would like to know what parts I would need to do the conversion on my door locks to make them work like that 2 stage "select logic" system on the 1992 M30's?

I have found a few more things about the M30 online through reviews from the usual car mags, caranddriver.com, motortrend.com, edmunds.com, various used car sites, and forums for some Nissan related sites, like this one and freshalloy.com, maxima.org, and g35driver.com.

However, if you really want help modding your M30, you may find more people with more experience from the Japanese. The M30 is a luxo American version of the 1986-1991 Nissan Leopard model F31 in Japan. I have done a search on Google before and came across a Japanese group who all modded their F31. Just email them and hope they are fluent enough in English. . . or that they can understand your Japanese. :)
