i have access to a m30 differential and i'm aware that these are vlsd.i cant find anywhere though that says that ALL m30's are vlsd equipped does anyone know?? and this differential that i have access to , when i spin the driveshaft and hold one wheel that one wheel doesnt spin but the other does. Do vlsds usually act like this or do they have to warm up to work? this is on an automatic btw.

any info greatly appreciated and i did search

i was just now looking at edmunds.com and the 90-91 M30 says under standard features that it has limited slip, but not on the 92, can anyone verify this???

no, the M30 is a rwd(kinda like the 240 he's got in his sig:D) 4 seat 2 door convertible powered by the VG30DE

I'm betting it's got the VLSD because it's gonna share 300ZX and J30 parts.

It is indeed RWD, and has the VLSD. (cookie for James)

yay! Cookie!

I want one with a manual transmission and twin turbo set up, oh yeah, and the car to be in pristine shape, that'd be awesome.

like a BW T-56 in that sucker, oh yeah, six speed action...

I believe the M30 used the same 3rd member as the Z31 300ZX. And that would not be a bolt-on affair. It's been a while since I've seeb this discussed, but I am thinking that the internals may work. I think the main parts are still an R200, but the housing and perhaps the pinion shaft is different. Maybe the output shafts as well.

the M30 uses a VG30E like the Z31, not the DE
