Ok folks I am really tempted to buy an '91 M30 coupe. I didn't even know they existed. Who thinks this is a good idea? Also how well do the trannies hold up? Any ifo would be greatly apreciated. :D

If I can somehow get this car I will have to sell my '84 200sx. I want to keep my 240 for a track car but the 200 would have to go :(

Well, I'm pretty sure Rex (the real Rex) has one, but other than that I don't think any of the regular's have any first hand knowledge. Unless it's a phenominal deal, you'd be better off getting a 240 drop top (before AZ, so you can say he copied you :D)

I believe the founder of NICO owns a turbocharged M30. Nice engine and chassis, handles well. Interior seems a little too 80s for me, but its a charming nimble coupe nonetheless.

My preference? All black with chrome wheels, or white with beige two-tone. I almost bought one before I got my Q.

Its also a nice used bargain right now with plenty of parts available.

Pros: Smooth running, nice driving, economical car. Great all around visibility. Quick steering, very short turning radius, handles well in local traffic and on the freeway.

Cons: If the car has a sun roof, not too much headroom for a tall person. Also having a minor problem with what I believe might be a worn out TPS......unless it it adjusted to an out of tolerance setting (per the manual), the transmission shifts a little funny; i.e., harsh 1-2 shift when cold and delayed 3-4 shift.

Well the car is a 91 cope M30 with a rebuilt engine that has 23k miles on it. The car looks awsome in the picture. The guy want 2000 firm for it. I like the M30 cause it isn't as common. Don't get me wrong I love a Q45 but the M is more obscure and I like odd cars. I love the fact that it is a coupe and not a vert I had never even seen a coupe in real life.

Also how hard you think it would be to swap a 5 speed out of a z31 into this car? and maybe strap on the turbo components? :D

Same reason I like (and will continue to like) my 2003 M45. :) It is going to be rare car since they are changing it next year. I know some people do not like the looks of the current model, but it has grown on me - instantly recognizable from far away (unlike the "generisization" of the Q45 and new M45!)

Read this Driver's Log for a review that captures the essence of the current Y34 M45.

this is exactly what i want to know, also, what springs might work, is there any kind of header? i know that some of this stuff might be for sale in japan so if anybody knows please hook me up. also, if you could use the transmission off the z31, do you think that holes for master cylinder are alsready there? if you could use the pedal box and all of the z31 parts, this swap could be a cake walk. i would love to swap the whole drivetrain from a turbo 300zx in it and go but i need more info. thanks for the help guys.

When you say "rebuilt engine" that can mean a lot of things... anywhere from engine haning from a lift in a tree in bubba's back yard while he pulls the heads and puts some new valves in ---> to a new factory long block. I'd check on exactly what was done on the rebuild and who did it. On the other hand for $2K, you're not in for that much...
