While I'm adding all this power to my L24, should anything be done to the manual transmission? New bearings? Seals? Is there a "perfect" gear ratio I should try to obtain?

the 72 had a better trans than the earlier cars, you might enjoy a 5 speed on the interstate, and when paying for gas if you intend to do any autocross ro drag racing you might want to upgrase to a LSD other than that there are no real weknesses that need to be upgraded unless you're a hardcore drag racer, the trans and diff take a rpetty good beating
