I sold my I30 and want to replace it with a 2008/2009 M. I believe I settled on the following configuration. Does anyone have an opinion, one way or the other, regarding this configuration? Advice perhaps...?

M45x
Premium Package
XEXON Package
Blue (the darker one) Exterior
Saddle Interior
Color matched spoiler
Color matched mud guards/flaps
Truck mat
Custom/upgraded wheels would be nice

I told my dealer what I was looking for and that I was in no rush to settle.

Thanks for any and all remarks.

Oh, if it matters, I live in New Jersey.

The spoiler on it will probably be hard to find. Might be easier to get one without and buy a spoiler from Jason Burtman or ebay that is designed to look like the OEM one.

Well, I just started looking, so it's not in my hands, yet.

I gave the dealership a couple of weeks to locate one with a pedigree that I can trace. If they find nothing in two weeks, I'll visit another couple of dealers in the area and give them a shot.

Interesting suggestion. It just make the search a little easier. I guess trying to locate a vehicle with very a specific option configuration could elongate the search.

Hmmm...

I purchased a 2008 M35x about a month ago and was lucky enough that mine came with a spoiler. Most, if not all, of the M's in my area that I saw on Autotrader didn't come with a spoiler. I also didn't see too many M45x's for sale.

Where in NJ are you? I purchased mine in Brooklyn.

Good luck

I am in South Jersey, not far from Philly.

During my investigation, I found about 3-4 dozen M's within 50 miles. Some with spoiler. Most, like you said, were without.

Although I want the M in the configuration I stated, an item or two can be retrofitted with/from either Infiniti parts or quality aftermarket.

The package and color K52 <???> are the biggies. I could go with a 35, but... XEXON lights, I could probably install something similar.

I've been looking for a spoiler package but nobody had it in Umbria Grey (the metallic brownish color, C31) and I'm too lazy to buy a primered one and get it painted!! But they got it!

Thanks much enigma!!!! SWEET...

Green, I bought mine from Holman. '07 M45 Sport, back in '09. Not sure if that's the dealership you're dealing with now, but they've been great for me. I live in PA, but still make the trek over to South Jers to take my M there.

That is the dealership I am currently working with.

I started looking for my M at Auto Lenders, which is not too far from my house. The only thing they had in stock were a couple of lite-on-the-options M's. Both of which were black on black (not my choice in colors). However, I did take one out this past Saturday and liked what I drove.

Left there and headed straight to Holman. Took out a white on saddle which was nice. But, once again, not the color nor package combo I am interested in. They did try to convice me to take it with me though... :chuckle:

Spent all day Sunday scouring every dealership between New York and Deleware looking for combinations of color, model and packages I found interesting. A few were close, but no bulls-eyes. Stopped back at Holman on Monday and told my sales rep what I was looking for.

That's where things stand at the moment.

Saturday, my SO and I have an appointment at our credit union to get the financing out of the way and determine what we/I need to come up with to get the vehicle and interest rate I want. Once pre-approved, the search will kick into high gear.

They have something similar to what you were looking for at the dealer I got mine. Don't have pics posted yet on their site

Thank you for the link, PhillyM35... I look forward to the pics when they get posted. Probably over the weekend or Monday.

In about 30 minutes I am heading to the AutoLenders lot not far from my house. They just received an M35 this week and it has the two technology packages but the exterior color is black and the CARFAX shows no signs of dealership maintenance. The original purchaser bought it in Allentown, PA, drove it for three years when it popped up at the NE PA Auto Auction house when AutoLenders bought it for inventory.

That said, I will go with an open mind.

I'll post an update later this evening.

Well, I took the M35 at AutoLenders out for a spin. Had it on the road for about an hour.

Nice ride. Can't wait to get one for myself.

The color, Black, did nothing for me. The saddle interior was very nice. As was the sound system.

This particular vehicle, supposedly, had both technology packages; not the premium. I attempted to use the new Lane Deparure System. However, I was able to get it to kick in. It could be my lack of experience with the option. I found a back road with clearly marked lanes and allowed the car to drift towards the shoulder. Nothing. Nothing in the steering wheel, nothing on the radio and nothing in the brakes.

The steering was nice and tight. Move the wheel a little and the car moves, or turns. Much better than my old I30.

So, it's off to the bank tomorrow to arrange financing and if everything works out, I should be beating on the doors of the dealers in the area asking when will they find me one.
