I will be driving a lot more this year (Around 20kmi yr) and should be for the next few years for my job till we can move closer to my work(Cant move in Florida, housing market, dead). I need my next car to go 150kmi and servicing every 5-9kmi, will the G fit the bill. If so, what should I look out for in the G.
I am a current M45 owner who has had average realibility and poor fuel economy. I am average only 16.9 in 50/50 mix of driving and premium only. The car drives good but the fit and finish of the interior has started to develope several little rattles (now at 45kmi) and it suffered from oil consumption which resulted in engine replacement (8qts of oil in 10kmi car had 29kmi with 7 oil changes at the time). The Ms are very sensitive to tires and brakes, they require the best which costs alot often. So far these issues have spoiled an otherwise great car.
I got a G35/7 as a loaner while my M was getting a new engine and in a word, wow, this V6 has power and the car drove nice, tight and light. I understand the V6 is as good as the Toyotas and Hondas V6 when it comes to durability (I wish the V8 was). How are the G sedans interiors holding up? The G35 loaners door handle area was chewed up and finish peeling off and the instrument panel was misaligned, I know these loaners are treated poorly or are they poorly made? Any issues with the engine/auto transmission with the miles? Also, after reading some articles online and seeing pictures of the interior, how can u tell if it has the wood package or the allum. (on the M the allum. is the sport). Thanks for the info.
