Hey guys,I am a college student and have been reading the posts for a while because of my love for the 03/4 M's. I am graduating in December and am seriously researching everything about these cars for a future purchase. I have a couple questions: Has anyone seen an 03/4 M with the Infiniti FX 20'' rims? And also, why do some have a vinyl strip on the bottom, can they be painted? And back to the rims, I would like a 19" or 20" set, which one do y'all prefer? And I don't like chrome, I'm a polished aluminum man, so any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Anyone comment on the 20" FX rim on a 03/4 M? I know they are 8" wide, will that look flush/good? Any silver, bigger, stock looking rim ideas?

Yes I have seen a dozen or so Ms and Qs with the FX 20s and yes they look sweet. They look like they come stock on both cars.

Do they look to gotty/pimp like? Or more normal looking? Any comments on the vinyl panels on bottom being painted? Thanks y'all

I installed the 06 G35 rims 18" in chrome..also the stripe you are talking about is not actually a stripe, the bottom is painted flat-black and on the white cars it does look like a sticker..on the other colors you can hardly tell the cars bottom is painted flat-black.

Well, in my opinion they FX rims look hideous, but that is just my opinion. And, I'm not sure what vinyl (sp) you are talking about. I did a search on fix rims on an M but wasn’t able to locate it. Sorry!

Oh unless you are talking about the bottom of the cars having that black trim. Yes it can be painted. I don’t think it vinyl

buy a black M and you dont need to deal with that black trim I seriously considered a white M, but that trim killed it for me. I didnt want to paint anything, so the black one whistled at me and it was over!!!

Thanks guys, any guesses what they'll drop in cost in a year-yr 1/2?

I doubt any at all. How much lower can you go than they are now? Unless of course you want to get one with high mileage but you can find plenty of those right now.

I think the max depreciation has already taken place. If infiniti designs another M for 08, then maybe it’ll drop again, but I doubt if that happens. A good M with 40k miles will easily run you $22k-$23k. There is a gold one here at the dealer for 21 and it has 55k miles, so….. go figure. Do not expect for the car to go any lower. Get it while its hot!!

I have seen the 20" chrome fx45 wheels on a red M and thought the chrome made the car look aftermarket/flashy/ghetto but still looked better than almost all aftermarket rims. There are also some photos of a green M with the gunmetal 20" fx wheels and I'de say its the best looking M i've ever seen bar none hands down and I'm not even a big fan of the green M. I have a gold M and am waiting patiently to find a painted silver set of the FX 20" wheels on ebay, no doubt they would give the car a racy/euro tuner look, really clean and grown. M's just dont look good with aftermarket rims, but look quite exotic with the factory 20's. I think the owner of the green M is "conley_jb", maybe he could post some photo's.

The FX 20s seem to look good on either a very dark colored car or a very light colored car. IE, yes to silver and black but no to red. Don't get me wrong, I hope to get a red with black leather Y34 for my next car. But not with FX 20s.
