Replaced the MAF today. The stalling is still there but is at the ultimate minimum. No more wacky funny bad maffy things anymore. Steady silky smooth idle with no fluctuating, but the biggest difference I noticed was when I took it on the freeway. Luckily for me a 97ish Mustang GT was testing my testicular fortitude to race on a wet road (it's been pouring here). Well....I aint stupid. But I did get out there and find accelerating the most effortless I've ever seen it! The power difference had me seriously driving with my jaw dropped damn near drooling!

I also decided to adjust my IAC (or AAC?) screw because my idle has been way too high since having the engine put in. I'm glad I did own that 94 for 5 hours. I got to make a huge comparison and now I know what's REALLY wrong with my 90.

I listed my Q on craigslist.org earlier today and got an overwelming amout of responses to the point where my cell phone ran out of battery power from it ringing so much. The verdict though, I can't sell it. Myself won't let me sell it. The 94 was nice (til the crack that is) and I do like the grille better than no grille, but when I drove it, it just wasn't the same. Can't put my finger on it because it ran perfect (probably temporarily though). Oh well, some things just aren't meant to be. If I was meant to have a 94 I'd have one right now.

So...let me suck it up, get these damn guides done next month and love the Q! Bought some factory aluminum exhaust tips like the ones on the 94+ to add a little more sport. Looks nice!

AAC=IAC...

They call it the AAC in the parts book, but IAC in the FSM.....

E.. Glad you got it going better... Id like to hear more thoughts on the 94 vs 90.....

94 Q45:

*Quiet, scary quiet (stall quiet for my 90)*Rides better*More luxurious*Slightly more give on the throttle petal for easier acceleration*When under heavy acceleration the engine sounds like its under the hood instead of in your lap like on my 90*The main thing I like about the 94 is the fact that the whole body is one color (mudflaps)

90 Q45:

*Seems to have a better blend of power/luxury/comfort - almost like the makers said "I don't give a f*** what everybody thinks, we're gonna be original and there ain't gonna be a grille! Love it or leave it..oh and it'll haul a$$". On the 94+ they gave in to the more conservative look (which I like and dislike equally)

*Handles better by far. We actually put them on the rack next to eachother and tried to figure that one out. We couldn't, though the 94 did seem slightly taller and may have something to do with it (?)

*But damn can a nigga get an alarm remote up in this?

*The 90 just seemed to have more "soul" than the 94 did. It's just ruthless and carefree. The 90 is a late teen, the 94 is in it's late 30's.

*The 90 isn't as reliable, meaning you can't get away with skipping maintenance too often.

I drive an '05 G35 demo right now for work. The acceleration on it and my 90 Q have an erie similarity. Whereas the 94 reminds me more of the M45's acceleration (muscular but luxurious).

I'd of course take a 94 over a 90, but I'd rather keep my 90 now than go after a 94 if that makes any sense. The 90 fits my personality more I guess?

The early models dont look the best without a grille but you can do something about that though! But i guess you kinda need a bodykit to go with it though.

Come drive my 94.... even the ultimate 9093 "fanboy" had some nice things to say about the BADness

I actually like the 90-93's with the aftermarket grille better than the 94-96 with the stock grille. I think it has to do with the headlamp positioning.

Heheh, yesss! Same thing happened to me. I'd already driven it over 10,000 highway miles, but after cleaning the MAF, whew, my god, what a remarkable difference! I recommend that anybody who has gotten complacent about their Q's performance, just clean your MAF(or in your case replace it), take it out on the freeway, and Floor It on the ramp - just hold that pedal down and watch and feel. Fun stuff, even for an old guy like me!
