LUNGING,STALLING, SMELL GAS AIR /FUEL METER LOCKS ON RICH

1991 240 SX 5 SP. RAN EXCELLENT UNTIL STARTED TO ACTS LIKE IT GOING TO STALL SO I SHIFT NEXT GEAR SEEMS BETTER WHILE IM ACCELERATING THEN IT STARTS OVER. THEN AFTER 10 MINUTES OF THIS STUFF . I STOP AND IT FIRES UP AND RUNS GREAT.. ANY SUGGESTIONS

Sounds like is it bogging down from running way to rich.

Try unplugging the MAF and see if it runs similar, or even better.

If it runs fine when you first start it, I would also see if the coolant temp sensor is crusty, or not plugged in all the way.

Nothing modified on the motor? A turbo motor with an unattached intercooler coupler will act exactly the same when using a pull through set up.
