Does brand really matter when buying lugs? I was looking for red extended lug nuts online (47 to 50mm) and was amazed by some of the prices.

right now I'm running these: http://www.evasivemotorsports.com/mm5/m ... ange_high=

want to get a red color set to see if it'll look good w/ wheels. any suggestions?websites?brands? size is 12x1.25mm length: 48mm - 50mm.

Don't suggest Works, please. I refuse to pay $200 for a set of lugs. :nono:

lug nuts are very pricey depending on name brand. I went the cheap route & got the muteki lug nuts. As long as its the size 12x1.25 you're fine. There's extended lug nuts for people that need them when they have aftermarket wheels.

Yea, I saw a lot of the muteki brand online. How's the quality on those?

They've been great for me, no complaints at all. I got the extended-open ended neo chrome lug nuts.
Plus the website above are good discounted prices for the lug nuts

I ran Muteki. I really like them, good brand.

i'm selling replica project kics for $50. In case you've never heard of them, they're really nice and expensive. The downside of the replicas is they don't have the same color finish. I didn't know they were reps when I got em. I bought them at night so I couldn't tell until the next morning. I thought I was getting a sick deal for $150 (they go for $260 retail). Found out they're going for $60 shipped from China! This guy is making easy money selling to people for $150, passing them off as legit ones.

Anyway,

Great thing about kics is that there are 16 standard lugs which need a key, and 4 special locking lugs which also need a key. Dual security. Pm me for details, not trying to thread jack but this is a good deal if you're looking to get a good SECURE lug setup for cheap.

Nope. Needs an aftermarket wheel.

Damn. I'm trying to find some aftermarket lugnuts for my OEM wheels as I'm going to keep my wheels and spend my tax refund on go-fast parts :bigthumb:

You can powdercoat them. But you gotta find another set that you can use while they're getting powdercoated :tisk:

I think some of the more standard looking after market lugs can work with oem wheels. Like gorilla lugs. Not 100% sure though

Lol, I hear ya. I refuse to use the gun on those lugs, that's what I told my mechanic he was kinda pissed but he got over it :chuckle:
