Hey, I posted in wheel and tire forum but no luck. I was wondering if it's bad to use tuner lug nuts like the 5zigens on stock wheels. I've heard yes and no.

I wanna use them on my s14 now and eventually on some r32 gtr wheels if I could finally get my hands on some.

Thanks guys, dumb question I know

thats what I was wondering. I've been told weight differences between stock and aftermarket blah blah.... I wasn't convinced so figured I'd ask. Thanks for the replies guys.

On a side note, whats the max spacer you can run on stockers before needing extended studs?

nevermind, gonna run 5mm.

I couldn't tell ya... I don't know much about spacers. I know that if i don't have them on the front of my Z the wheels rub the shocks....

differences of the wheels and if they would be too heavy for the lighter lugs.

Also a little paranoid because my friend's wheel just fell off on his s13 while driving.

I'm just gonna do it, whatever

if they are decent quality weight of the wheels shouldnt matter, heck some wheels are just as heavy as stock

You have to replace aluminum lug nuts like every time you take them off the wheel. That's why your friend's lugs fell off. Either that or he's an idiot.

Spacers and tuner lugs on stock wheels? Isn't that a little backwards?

Those tuner lugs could also have a smaller contact diameter area, which would affect things.

yeah, hes actually not an idiot but nice. So you replace 5zigen pro racer lugs everytime you change a tire or rotate them?

Considering the cost, no you do not replace them every time you remove them.I have been running aluminum lug nuts for just over a year. I remove my wheels monthly for cleaning, and to make sure everything is still where it needs to be. Make sure to use a dab of anti-sieze on the wheel studs, and do not over torque the lug nuts. I go 75ft/lbs and never use air tools. On a side note, Muteki has finally released the SR48 lug nuts. Which are essentially the same long chunky style only made from chrome vanadium steel. I will be ordering a set this weekend. I could care less about the weight, but I do like the look and extra thread engagement of the longer lug nuts.

I googled it and several places came up. They are going on EBay from $50-$55 shipped, so I am assuming that would be the low end of the price scale. They are open ended, 48mm in length, 17mm hex, with the large diameter seat area. Available in black and some dark titanium color.

While on the topic of ebay..would the $20shipped wheel locks do a good job in preventing people from stealing your wheels? heres the listing:

there are certain ones u can get (pepboys has em) that actually needs a key and are true locking lugs where u put one on each wheel. these ones need a special key and cant be unlocked w/ regular tools, we have these on my wifes integra

the ones on my car are just "special" lug nuts. all my lug nuts are like this and u can pick up the tool for em anywhere. its just a star shaped design

i think i would need the ones your wife has.. what are the ones that she has? i live in a kind of not good area, so i think i would need the wheel locks.

also on your other post about the 25 offset being too sunken..it looked pretty good from the pics and im running on eibach springs and agx shocks with stock sized rotors..
