Had alignment done, firestone said my 1997 j30t's had a missing lug on one of the wheels. Couldn't give me a price but said it would be 85$ of labor to install it.

How much do lugs cost each?

Is it bad that I am missing one?

Are all the lugs identical for each of the four wheels

$85 for installing a lug? WOW!!!

Sure they didn't mean the stud?

If it's the stud, they are usually about $2 - $4 at your local auto store.

Have to take your wheel off and your rotor. Beat out the broken stud if it's still in there, and press in the new one. Cake.

I'd love to do it for $85.

That is way to much, the J30 is a floating rotor, and it should only be a half hour labor time at a shop. it should cost no more than 50 bucks includeing the stud and lug nut.

it is not bad to drive with one stud and lug nut bad, but i would not want too!!!!

Yeah, they said stud . . . but said it was an hour's job, and that studs were VERY expensive.

They said the J30's studs were unavailable in their catalog.

Guess i'll have to go to a different place .

I just called Advance Auto and they have them for $1.98 each.

And I agree, if it was my car, it would be fixed by the weekend. I would drive it for the rest of the week and make it my first-thing-Saturday-morning project.
