So I noticed yesterday one of my lug bolts is snapped off ... now what to do? What do I need to do to fix it? oh and would it be a better idea to do the brake and 5 lug upgrade?

Anybody know the price differences between just fixing the busted lug or doing a brake and 5 lug upgrade?

I know the brake and 5 lug upgrade would be more beneficial but I'm thinking cost....

Thanks! :help

EDIT: Btw .. .it's the drivers side rear

i assume you mean the lug stud? the part the nut screws onto.

it's by far cheaper than a 5 lug upgrade. go to nissan, pick up a new lug stud and then have the old one pressed out and the new one pressed in.

i'm trying to remember a trick to pressing the old one out, but a trick to getting the new one in is to set it in place and then slip your lug nut on and tighten it down till the stud is pulled in place

ya, just get a good hammer and knock the old one out, then draw the new one in with the lug nut. You will need to take the rotor off to do all of this, then put it back on to draw the stud into place.

this can also be applied to a '97 dodge caravan right? two lug studs are broken and i want to be able to fix it myself.

if it costs more than $5 you have done something wrong.

Yes I called AutoZone and they said the stud would cost a whopping $1

And I may just do my back brakes while I have everything off.
