Lucky me.. wheel bearing went at only 17k miles!!

Discussion of Infiniti's amazing (and underrated) sport-luxury crossovers, the EX35 and EX37. For 2014, the EX series will be renamed QX50, in line with Ininfiit's new naming conventions.

Well.. everything works til it breaks but this was a little soon! Had a high-pitched,speed sensitive whine all the time and a howling sound on right-hand, sweeping curves like a highway on ramp. After a 2 hour, noisy drive to the dealer it was the LF wheel bearing that got replaced. I know these things should last a lot longer but s**t happens...

Yeah...Seems some have this issue but most don't. I've been lucky thus far and not had a wheel bearing issue in any of the Nissan product's I've owned.

Well, it seemed like too much of a coincidence that the bearing failed after I put on my new 35mm offset summer wheels which resulted in the tires sticking out about 1/2 inch more than the stock 47mm. Even though these wheels were recommended as suitable for the EX35 time will tell if this is putting too much leverage on the bearings! I did see another wheel site that said 35-45 mm offset was OK for this car..
