Has anyone used Lucas products in their 1995 Q45 Transmission. I was thinking about adding a bottle.

You'll get much better results by using the Lubeguard products, lubeguard red is the best to use in the Q transmission.

Thanks. Is this something I can buy at a local auto Parts store, or do I need to online order?

I dont use any of that crap. your transmission has been working since 1995,and all of a sudden you think it needs a bottle of special potion NOW?

Well.... on these cold mornings when I put it in D, it slips until the engine temp warms up, maybe 5 min. Then no problem at all. I drained the transmission fluid and replaced twice. Each refill I have had better response on cold mornings, almost to the no slipping point. It is also shifting better. I am going to drain and replace the transmission fluid another time. I am trying to flush out all the old fluid from the converter. It has been a very long time since the fluid has been changed. :( When the outside temp warms up, the problem goes away completely.

I would do at least 2 more drain/fills,until the color of the drained fluid looks exactly the same color as brand new fluid.Once you get it to that point,a single drain/fill every 15,000 miles will keep it fresh. How many miles are on the transmission?

221,500 miles. OK, I will do two more drains. (Each drain is 1 Gallon milk jug) I actually have noticed the fluid getting better in color too. It really wasn't that bad and did not have a bad smell. Thanks for your advice!

I am approaching 340k. I have only flushed my transmission three times in 250k of ownership. Am debating on flushing or letting it go. Told myself gas and oil here on out with this Q @ 250k. If it doesn't look bad or smell bad, chances are it isn't bad. Let it run its route, chances are it will last longer the less you F**k with it

My transmission was slipping last year on some gradual inclines. I was told by my mechanic that it would need replacement, something to do with the torque shutter if that exists. Anyway, I tried a bottle of that Lucas stuff, and then did 3 drain and fills during each of my last 3 oil changes, so far so good, I don't feel that jerking anymore. I don't think you should try it if you're not experiencing any problems though....

6 oz. with M1 mechanical ATF replacement will set it up right. Install ATF cooler at same time. Don't forget O ring, new screen, gasket and one time use bolts.

Any change of color via the white paper towel test shows evidence of degradation degradation. The best ATF is fresh ATF that meets specification.
