Hey All

I have been doing some research on the boards about people's views of Lucas products and I was wondering if anyone on the pathfinder/QX section uses it in their vehicle...

I found some link about some guy named Bob the oil guy or something like that adding in lucas stabilizer and it frothed up, now I have used Lucas on my old accord and I have never experienced this before...

I mean, its a link from the internet, Bob could easily add in some other substance to make it froth...

Soooooooo any feedback would be helpful (Stabilizer systhetic or non, fuel injective)...on their pathy and QX'er..Note I have 140.000 on my pathy

I have used their slick mist and I like it..it actually smells nice...like bubble gum

I have not used Lucas products in my QX4, but I have used them in my Explorer and have never had any problems. I don't know that it helps, but I've heard more good than bad. My mechanic friend swears by it. If you want to try it, I'd try half a bottle at first and see what you think. Good luck!

Why do the British drink warm beer?

They have Lucas refrigerators.

;-)

I had a college roommate with an MGB, all Lucas electrics. No way I'd willinglyuse Lucas if there was an alternative.

My experience with Lucas products go back a long time, probably 30 years. It wasn't good.I'll never use their stuff again, even though they could be OK by now.My bias lasts a long time.Same reason I'll never buy from the big 3 again. They may have some good vehicles today, but that doesn't matter to me now.Too many bad memories prevent me from ever buying say, a Chevy, again. There's an old saying I tend to live by. Burn me once, shame on you, burn me twice, shame on me.

AJRK, why do you not use it in your QX? Any particular reasons?

Buzzman, what kind of bad experiences did you have with their products and what were those products?

what are you talking about?there are more than one company that goes under the name 'lucas'this thread has nothing to do with electronics.

i've used their products before with no problemsnot in my pathfinder, but thats cause the only fluid i've added to it is gas. i'd be willing to use it again

a guy at my work used lucas oil stabilizer with every oil change in his chevy truck, and coincidentally his truck was the only one out the whole fleet that now has engine problems.

Hes the type of guy that pours fuel injector cleaner in his gas tank and all sorts of other pep boys garbage, it could have been any of the magic potions he used that screwed up the engine

I don't use it in the Q because I don't change the oil in it myself. It always goes to my mechanic friend's shop. I've often thought about switching to synthetic with it, and or starting to use Lucas, but it runs so well I don't see the need.

I switched to synthetic on my Explorer since I started changing the oil myself (in 2003 at about 90,000km). I was worried how the engine would fare as the mileage increased, and so far it's been great.

I was talking about Lucas electrical parts, commonly used in British cars.

The experiences I had were quite a few years ago, and they were with their electrics. Most notably their fog lamps and other related stuff. I'm admittedly not being fair in my long term evaluation of Lucas products, and I'm sure things have changed and improved, but I tend to stick with what I know and what I trust.(In general, I'm like that with pretty much any consumer product or company. For example, I once had a bad experience at a Wendy's fast food restaurant at a freeway truck stop, and was so pi$$ed off that I vowed never to eat there again. That was probably ten years ago, and I've never been back.)
