Can someone please tell me what the best LSD is for the least amount of money ? will a vlsd out of another 240SX be better than aftermarket ?

The J30 is a decent LSD thats what I've had in my car for about 3 months now and like it. It's not as good as a clutch style but its a good diff for the price. Just make sure that you get the axles with the pumpkin. Your looking at a 6 bolt difference instead of the 5.

There are numerous s13 vlsd's around for not a whole lot.

vlsd out of a 240 or Z car or J30 aren't as good as a clutch type diff, which has already been said, but clutch type diff's are expensive!

Yeha, the VLSD if its in good shape, is a great performance addition for around 300-500 dollars...versus the cheapest clutch type LSD(700+dollars)

and its quieter...but it will not perform as well, but going from a open to LSD at all(if it is in good shape) will help anyone quite a bit. I love my LSD.-chet

Why, you wouldn't want it for drifting anyways. And normall, you can find S15 HLSD's on eBay for cheaper than VLSD.

Kaaz is cheapest clutchtype LSD. OEM VLSD... eh, good to start out on, but if you can, and you want to drift, just start with a 2 way. Few hundred more, but so much better. Way more predictable. VLSD sucks after you've driven 2 way.

I second that... I have a VLSD out of a J30... I wish now I would have just saved up more $$ for a 2-way like KAAZ... would have been much much happier..

Although, VLSD is not *bad* it just starts to suck once it's gotten really hot.. it doesn't grip as much...

*shrug*

instead of paying extra money you can use the z32 n/a diff cover.its finned.its baffled.

for oil..save yoru money

just get some NEO gear oil..$44 a GALLON and throw some ford additive in there from HD diesel trucks

as for lsd

vlsd = suck1.5 way = rock2 way = rock

go ahead and pick

Z31 kouki turbo has clutch type. this swaps in. use a 200SX turbo R&P to keep 4.11 gearhave fun

The thing about LSD's is that you get what you pay for. Every type of LSD handles differently. I prefer KAAZ. I think that they have the best feel and are the most reliable. That is the reason that I chose to carry them. There really isn’t a better LSD out there for drifting. Even the NISMO LSD is not as responsive and fluid as the KAAZ with the RS plates.
