I have a 96 240 but when i power brake it both tires spin and leave marks, but it isn't a SE, it's four lug, the vin plate dosn't say it should have one, but it doesn't have abs, and it has the white face SE gauges and alloy rims, bought it used stock. Does an open diff. spin both tires?

No, you might have had wet tires or something. But if it is a non-SE and stock it is without a lsd.

if both wheels have the same amount of traction, they will both spin.

did the previous owner swap in a lsd?

to test for lsd u dont do it in a straight line...duh, cuz that'll more than likely give equal traction...

u take it to an empty parking lot...lock the wheel one direction and then floor it...then count the skid marks

Would that test still apply if it's viscous? I was under the impression that the viscous locks up when the slippage causes the fluid to heat up thus causing the lock up in the LSD. So would that test still apply?
