i don't know, (actually i do) but either way, it certainly won't be in the KA engine forum.

check the 240sx general or tech section or better yet, search!

probably like one of the computer controlled electromagnetic ones they use in rally cars..I don't think they make any for the 240 already but for a few thousand you might be able to get one adapted...If your not looking to spend thousands of dollars you might not be able to get the best. Maybe some hint of budget and what you will be doing with it would be helpful? Also try the large blinking button in the upper right corner.

Viscous is cheap, but I think my next investment will be helical. I would be willing to trade my viscous for 150+ your old one.

I have rocked a welded in my s13 for 15k and they are not that bad. A 240 is so light you dont get mutch chirp unless you are rocking 9-11" wide tires. I would own one any day over a viscous. Then again I have a car built strictly for winter so my 240's never see anything bad. Gota have fun in the snow. Im the kind that likes to drift and drag or just plane mess around when I can. I know 5 people that I can get you emails to that have a welded diff in there 240 and daily drive and would never go back to even a cheap lsd. All I have to say is dont bash unlees you have tryed one.

Yeah, I kept my stocker so that I could one day try the Phantom Grip. I like the idea. But be careful, it is only a good idea if you have enough torque to make a wheel spin. Otherwise, you will have enough TQ to break parts, but no slip in the system.

Kazaa and Cusco are going to be the best overall. Just for steet use, a 300Z N/A will do fine.

Do not weld, I guarentee you will regret it.

What does this do to your handling & cornering? Does it chew up tires? I'm going to be getting some top of the line BFGs and I don't want them messed up.

welding? yes with your axel locked it gonna make one of the wheels scrub on the ground. Read up on how a differential works and you will see why.

the car will either understeer or oversteer, no in between.

well, i guess there would be some times when it isn't sliding in one way or another, that when one of the rear tires is scrubbing. you can imagine what that does for tire life.

I know how a differential works - that's why I asked.

I think the J30 rear end is the one to use.

Be forwarned, the 3.9xx gearing will make your 240 noticably slower. Trust me I know. It does get better mpg and cruise better

It does lock up however, but if I could afford it I'd get a 1.5 or 2 way from Cusco or Kaaz or ATS or Quaife (NA Z32).
