I was walking around a friends junkyard today and i came across a S13 with HICAS and he said I could the get the whole rear end for $100. I just want it for the LSD to put in my 1990. My question is the car has ABS and mine dosen't will the LSD still work in my car?

Another queston I am going to swap in an sr20 next year and I need the power steering lines and fluid container will the still work in a non-HICAS car?

Since I am buying the whole rear end I assume the sway bar comes with it I guess I could sell it to you.

Hello,

I can't help you with the power steering question, but I do know that you will need the ABS driveshaft from the Hicas equipped junked car. The driveshafts are slightly different between the two types but it will mate up to your non-ABS transmission just fine.

Just to clarify: Get the differential AND the driveshaft from the same ABS equipped car.

rico05 I'll get your price when I get the parts.

What if the drive shaft isn't there? I'm not sure if it was there since I didn't look for it.

If there's no driveshaft then you might be out of luck. It's the ABS sensor that is important. Enjuku Racing sells aluminium driveshafts for ABS for $430.

How long has this car been in the junk yard? Remember it has a VLSD and if it sits to long with being used it wont be any good.

Look around for a 95 or 96 J30 or a S14 with ABS and swap the back covor with your stock back plate.

that shouldn't be bad. with the abs, it will work with your driveshaft, but you should use the abs drive shaft preferably. i ended up using a 300zx n/a diff and just swapped the cover and output shafts.shaun

Thanks for all the help. I am picking up the parts friday hopefully I can install the diff. sometime next week. If he dosen't have the abs driveshaft I'll just use mine until I can find one or get enough money to buy the Enjuku Racing driveshaft.

Hey! I just remembered. If you go to PDM racing, Don, usually has rebuilt VLSD for sale.........I think that he still has 2 of the non-ABS units left. They are TOP quality rebuilds with new seals, have been pressure washed, inspected and painted. Pretty nice for $400. He also has the ABS diffs WITH driveshafts! Boom!

Shipping is an additional $60 or so and they're packed in a wooden crate. After I rebuild my brake system, that's the next thing I'm doing!

I would do that if I 400 to spend but all I have is around 200. Thanks, though.
